Local Password Vault and File Encryption Decryption with Password Choice for Windows
I developed this program in 2022 because I was keeping my passwords just in plain text on my computer, but it always made me uncomfortable to do so, always worrying if some process could read them. But, often times we need access to them so I wanted a way of easy access but still put my mind to rest that they are more secure.
I also wanted a program that stays local so I retain full control of my data and does not replicate your data to a cloud or external server.
This program that works on Window OS allows the user to encrypt their passwords and safely organize and secure them so they are not just hanging around in a plain text file for anyone to read.
It is intended to be very straightforward, light weight, and offer enhanced security to the user.
It also offers a way to encrypt and decrypt files and allow the user to choose the password they want to secure them.
The program itself:
Data stays local, doesn't move to a cloud etc.
Requires no signup.
No data collection (No name, phone number, etc. to use).
No transmitting of data to another location outside your computer.
No internet connection required at runtime.
No software bloat, no unintended, unwanted features.
